It was pointed out to me that my work has slowed down on the book. That’s true, but also not entirely true. I hit the middle section of the novel. That middle section is a fine line of balancing on how the hell I am going to get to the big endings and the crazy shit that has to happen for all of this to come together. I’ve got a lot of balls up in the air right now and I do not want those balls to come crashing down on my head. Somehow I have fallen into a delicate balance between science and religion in a truly science fiction novel. It wasn’t expected, but, as I have said before, I truly am enjoying this work.
While balancing those balls, I’ve had to play with them a bit to figure out exactly where those need to go in this story. Tonight, I wrote about 1500 words in a quick sitting and wrote until I was spent. That was enough for now and enough to keep the fluids moving.
267 pages so far, is not too shabby. It just may take a few days to breathe here and there to let these stories tell themselves to me so I can translate them to the page.
In my down time earlier this weekend, and after writing a couple thousand words, I sat down to try and design some sort of cover for this monster. I think she came out okay. Here’s a sneak peek. Enjoy.
Until next time,
Mike.
