It’s funny how fast life can catch up to you. A week and a half ago, I was neck deep in writing and blogging and on a total creative binge. I was constant and I was pushing it for all I had. Then, BLAM! Reality sets in and I have to get back to work. Little things start creeping in. Those little things called resistance. It’s really irritating. I want to be writing. I want to be on here blogging and somehow a slight change in schedule and it throws my entire routine out of whack.
With that, I apologize dear reader. I have been absent from my writing duties. I have utterly and completely fallen behind on twitter. It’s been a weird week. The workplace has been rough. I’ve had some personal things come up with my kids that are just tougher and tougher to deal with from week to week. The little one isn’t handling the divorce well and it pains me each and every day to see the little guy hurting.
Aside from writing, I have been spending a good deal of time with the band. We have a new drummer and have been rehearsing quite a bit to get back out into the clubs. We took a hiatus briefly and did some writing together as a group. Our original drummer left us. We started writing and recording more. Then found a new drummer. It’s been a busy time. Hopefully we will have some new music available for everyone soon as we prep the currently untitled EP release.
Real life is so hard! So much to do and so little time to do it all in. I love the balancing act. I love that I am a creative person and have something inside me somewhere to let out into the world for others to enjoy. I think it somewhat defines who I am. It defines my entire experience on The Seven Isaacs, that is for sure. That was an entirely selfless act of writing. The story needed to come out and it needed to be told. I will say it over and over again. I was simply the conduit. It is a fantastic read, I truly enjoy the ride. It was an adventure to write it. It was an adventure to read it. …I still see a few mistakes here and there and think of things I would change. But, it’s out in the world now. There’s not much I can do to change that. They will be things I fix when I develop it as a screenplay… or perhaps a tv series! …Someday.
When Final Draft FINALLY releases their iPad app… it’s came on and we are back in the movie writing business! haha. Purchase a new camera and maybe we’ll get back to filmmaking. I’m getting a little overdue on it. And, The Seven Isaacs is the perfect project for that.
I don’t really have a whole lot to say today. I will be participating in a blog tour starting tomorrow. Readers and commenters on tomorrow’s post will receive a free copy of my first novel, The Seven Isaacs. Please, read your free book. Explore it’s interesting and unorthodox style and enjoy the ride that the book takes you on. Most of all, MOST of all… please, leave a review on amazon.com for the title. Without reviews, we authors have nothing.
Our troops are rockin’! And soon (hopefully), they’ll all be home from the war. Please give my free copy to one of these brave soldiers.
Joe
